Spring Court is the embodiment of what Summer merely preaches. It is the court of passion and transformation, and of an unguarded care for faeries and mortals alike, which makes it the warmest of the four and the politically weakest, because tenderness is not a power base and pacifism wins few votes. If asked, Spring would pretend not to know Netherlust exists; even in Faerie, the house’s name tends to draw embarrassed revulsion, and pretending is simpler than being seen to care. The Spring Court would rather meet a mortal in a field than in a themed sex room. Cian is a son of Spring, and his wide-eyed optimism and practiced naivete may be more performance than nature.
